The road less travelled...

 

1982 Vancouver. 2 years study Capilano University Jazz Program. Theory/Bass.

1982-86: Edmonton Alberta. 20 Feet Band. Bassist / Co-Writer. 4 years of 6 nighters playing covers / originals in nightclubs / universities across Western Canada.

EP received light rotation on radio across Canada.

Alumni now work for Paul Anka and K.D.Lang

1989 Sydney, Australia and South Pacific. 9 months travelling and playing acoustic guitar wherever.

1990: Vancouver. Columbia School of Broadcasting

1992 / 93 Songwriter Showcase radio show 102.7 fm - Host, Board of Directors Co-op Public Radio station

1994 Singapore, Thailand. 3 months travelling and writing songs this time-bamboo hostels.

1995 Toronto. Co-managed rehearsal hall used by Gowan, Barenaked Ladies and other notable acts. Wrote songs. Original band "The Danglers" Did some co-writes with EMI artist Dan Freshette.

1996-98 Vancouver.  Co-created and booked 'The Portside Room" original songwriter venue. Recorded acts live then played them on my radio show.

Hosted acoustic open mic night.

2000 Hello Electronica. Played solo bass gigs using looping pedals and samplers with friend former vice president of Music Publishing BMG Canada, aka Anomalous Disturbances.

2002 Phuket,Thailand. Became an English Language  teacher.

Wrote grammar songs for my Thai students.

2005 / 2010 Koh Samui, Thailand. Taught language in 5 star resorts.

Gigged at night - bands ranging from Jazz, Pop, Blues and Ska.

Got into using Logic 9 Pro Software.

Wrote more songs - 2 were performed at the Phuket Blues Festival.

2013 Hired by Derek Sivers ( Former owner CD BABY) Researcher for his book Business Start up Guide Thailand

2013 Released 10 ambient chill tracks under "Bobby Chillwave" on bandcamp.com

2014 Phuket. A few bass gigs with Rockabilly act Twang.
